Good news, Judge Dredd fans! It looks like a "Dredd 2" movie is happening!

As you can see in the above video, Urban has once again provide some words of encouragement for Dredd fans to keep the faith alive. He not only offers his assurance that he and select filmmakers behind the first installment - screenwriter Alex Garland to be exact - are working "very, very hard" to make Dredd 2 a reality, but that the ongoing fan campaign is, in fact, making a difference on that front.

A sequel to the 2012 cult-favorite "Dredd" movie is one step closer to happening as Karl Urban confirmed talks between the director and the studios are ongoing and they are planning to make a "Dredd" sequel!

During the Destination Star Trek convention that is taking place in Frankfurt, Germany, Karl Urban or "Bones" in the J.J. Abrams version of "Star Trek", was on hand to offer an update on "Dredd".

One of the first questions asked as soon as Karl Urban stepped into the plate was if there is any chance of "Dredd" sequel. In what should be good news to "Dredd" fans everywhere, he said ''conversations'' are taking place between the studio, the director and writer Alex Garland. He commented that the cinema release of "Dredd" was badly handled but the film had found its audience on DVD and it has been noticed by the studio.

The studio has more than likely also noticed the fan response to a sequel for "Dredd" as petitions are online as well as fan sites and Facebook pages supporting a second movie.
