Fans are still waiting for Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev to announce that they're back together.

Although this has yet to happen, it's clear that their on-screen chemistry remains. There has been speculation that the sexy scenes the two have to film may spark the romance once again so the two can finally get back together.

During an interview with Hit Fix, Nina Dobrev explained Elena's fiery relationship with Damon.

The 25-year-old actress stated, "When you play with fire, you might get burned. But it's also fire and exciting and it looks pretty."

"The Vampire Diaries" star added that Elena is "gonna learn a lot, but it's gonna definitely be a roller coaster for awhile."

According to Fashion & Style, Dobrev announced her split from Ian Somerhalder in the beginning of May 2013 after dating her co-star for three years.

It was reported that the 10-year-age gap brought the two apart as they wanted different things from their relationship.

Since then, Dobrev has been linked to "Dancing with the Stars" Derek Hough and Liam Hemsworth.

She has most recently been linked to her "Vampire Diaries" co-star Michael Trevino.

According to International Business Times, the pair, along with a group of friends, spent the day together at a bowling alley and posted the pictures on Instagram.

One picture showed Trevino holding a green bowling ball, and Dobrev captioned it saying, "There's a method to our madness."

As rumors of Nina Dobrev dating Michael began to surface, there was also news that Ian Somerhalder may be quitting the show after season 5.

Fans speculated that this might be due to the fact that Dobrev has moved on.

However, smoldering Somerhalder shut down quitting rumors, tweeting, "The Vampire Diaries wrapping season 5 in 8 more work days - 8 more wake ups! Take a break from Damon - explore the world - then do it all over again."
