Possibly inspired by Marvel, DC Comics and Sony, the producers of "X-Men: Days of Future Past" (trailer below) might be in the process of planning a Mystique spinoff starring the lovely Jennifer Lawrence.

If so, this would be the second X-Men superhero spinoff following Hugh Jackman's "Wolverine."

Unlike her past performance as the blue shape-shifting mutant in "X-Men: First Class," Lawrence gets a lot of screen time.

“There was a regime [at the studio] that didn’t see the worth in [spin-offs], and the current people who run Fox understand, embrace it, and we’re going to do right by it,” producer Lauren Shuler Donner told Entertainment Weekly. “I’d like to do Gambit. I’d like to do Deadpool. We’ll see. There’s a lot of really great characters.”

Mystique might not have made as much of a mark as Gambit or Deadpool did in the X-Men universe, but Lawrence definitely has the presence to make a standalone film a major success.

Being loved by both audience and critics, the 23-year-old Academy Award winner has already become the ultimate heroine due to her role in "Hunger Games."

Whether Lawrence is up for the commitment is also a deciding factor. According to TIME, "Silver Linings Playbook" producer and media tycoon Harvey Weinstein said the actress might take a year-long break from her big budget movies.
