Duke porn star Miriam Weeks was outed several weeks ago by a fellow student about her involvement in the porn industry.
According to The Daily Caller, the Duke student, also known as Belle Knox, will now be hosting a web-based porn reality show.
The online show is called "The Sex Factor," and will involve a challenge-based competition among eight first-time porn actors and actresses.
The prize is $1 million and "porn stardom," reports the Daily Mail.
Belle Knox will be the face of the show while porn veterans including Tori Black ("Anal Buffet 5"), Lexi Belle ("Lipstick Lesbo 5") and Keiran Lee ("MILF Magic") will appear as the judges.
A source close to the production stated, "This reality show is going to be such a game-changer that Simon Cowell will wish he'd thought of it himself."
There will be a casting call in San Francisco, prior to the show's debut in May. The winner will be announced in Las Vegas at the AVN Awards.
While Duke student Miriam Weeks is adjusting to her new life as a now famous porn star, the 18-year-old freshman describes her experience of the treatment she received afterwards as "heart-wrenching" and "horrible."
Weeks, a double major in women's studies and sociology at Duke, had stated that she got into the adult film industry as a way to pay for her attendance at the prestigious university.
The young porn star comes from a strict Catholic family as well. Although her family supports her now, there was inevitable clashing when her career as a porn star was revealed.
The Duke student spoke to Philadelphia Daily News of her decision of being a porn star, saying, "I don't want people to pity me or to think I did porn because it was my last resort or my last option."
She stated, "The message I'm trying to get out is that I, like so many women, made an educated and informed decision about my body, and everything I do is autonomous, and I love my work."
Miriam Weeks added, "I don't regret what I did. I think that everything happens for a reason. At first, it was really, really negative, but I think I've been able to turn it around into something that's positive."
