A shooting at the Jewish Center in a Kansas City suburb occurred during Passover Eve.
According to Reuters, the suspect, Frazier Glenn Cross, has a long history of racism and anti-Semitism.
The 73-year-old was reportedly arrested on Sunday after going on a shooting spree that killed a 14-year-old boy and his grandfather outside of a popular Jewish community center.
CNN News reports that Cross, who also goes by Frazier Glenn Miller, shot at a total of five people, killing three.
Police have stated that Miller is the founder and the former leader of the Caroline Knights of the Ku Klux Klan and the White Patriot Party. The Southern Poverty Law Center, which monitors hate groups, explained that both organizations operated as paramilitary groups in the 1980s.
During a Monday news conference, Overland Park Police Chief John Douglass said that the shootings could be a hate crime. Given his history, the possibility of the Jewish Center shooting being an act of anti-Semitism is incredibly high.
The suspect reportedly faces charges of premeditated first-degree murder and will be appearing in court on Monday for the Jewish Center shooting.
U.S. law enforcement officials stated that Miller got the firearms that he used for the shootings from a straw buyer, skipping the federal background checks required to obtain a weapon.
Miller was arrested at a nearby elementary school. A video from CNN affiliate KMBC shows Cross shouting "Heil Hitler" in the back of a police car.
The former leader of the KKK had gone online to express his anti-Semitism, calling Jews "swarthy, hairy, bow-legged, beady-eyed, parasitic midgets."
The day that Miller chose to act coincided with the Passover holiday and Hitler's birthday, which is approaching on April 20.
Miller killed 14-year-old, Reat Griffin Underwood, and his grandfather, William Corporon, outside the Jewish Center. His third victim was Terri LeManno, who was coming out of the Village Shalom retirement community center.
President Obama expressed his condolences, stating, "While we do not know all of the details ... the initial reports are heartbreaking."
