The season 7 premiere of "Mad Men" aired Sunday night.
The AMC show is following the "Breaking Bad" method of splitting the final season into two.
CNN reports that only 2.3 million viewers watched the return of Don Draper and the gang. The period drama reportedly then had two repeats for a grand total of 4.4 million.
The network reportedly pointed out that "Mad Men" is "the most upscale show on ad-supported television among adult 18-49, and sees significant time-shifting activity."
AMC emphasized that the number of viewers for the season 7 premiere is not far off from the sixth season's average.
Neve Campbell made an appearance on the premiere of "Mad Men" as well.
Webpronews reports that the "Scream" actress played a seductive passenger on the flight who happens to be seated next to Don Draper.
Neve Campbell spoke of her experience working and auditioning for the role, saying, "I had fun with wardrobe. I was able to express what felt good and what felt right."
She continued, "Showrunner Matt Weiner is so detail-oriented that he chooses the hairstyles and makeup for every character. So when I got to the hair-and-makeup trailer, there was a picture of a woman in an old article from the '60s, and that was the hairstyle that we were doing."
The actress added, "That was really interesting, because normally you have some room for a voice in this. But at the same time, there's a reason why the show has done so well, and a big part of that is obviously how specific and detail-oriented Matt is in what he does."
Fans were very happy to see Neve Campbell on the show and they've turned to Twitter to show it.
Petty Platypus, tweeted, "I was happily surprised to see Neve Campbell in the season opener of #MadMen. I definitely hope she's in more episodes."
Twitter user Ashley also wrote, "Well Neve Campbell showing up in this episode was unexpected yet awesome! I hope she comes back."
We're hoping "Mad Men" does better with its second episode.
