The "Gone Girl" official film trailer starring Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike was released onto the internet on Monday. The film, based on the very popular book of the same name, stars Rosamund Pike playing Amy Dunne and Ben Affleck as her husband, Nick. "Gone Girl" tells the story of the mysterious disappearance of Amy Dunne aka "Amazing Amy" on the couple's fifth anniversary. The suspicion slowly creeps towards Nick as the prime suspect of her death/disappearance as he begins to act strangely.

The trailer features a chilling Richard Butler cover of the Charles Aznavour song "She" which was previously made famous by Elvis Costello in the romantic comedy "Notting Hill." For this film, Richard Butler from Psychedelic Furs recorded a far eerier version of the light, romantic song. The author of the book "Gone Girl" Gillian Flynn has said that she wanted to explore the mysteries of marriage; she had also stated in previous interviews the the ending of the film will be different from the 2012 blockbuster novel. The David Lynch directed movie also stars Neil Patrick Harris, Carrie Coon and Tyler Perry. The "Gone Girl" film hits theaters on Oct. 3.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the trailer drops some serious hints to the movie in the form of a phone number, 1-855-4-AMY-TIPS, and a URL, FindAmazingAmy.com. Callers to the number are treated to an audiobook version of Gone Girl set to an ominous instrumental. A man reads as Nick Dunne, "When I think of my wife, I always think of her head." The trailer also drops some hints about the mystery of Amy's disappearance, as there is a brief glimpse of an envelope with "Clue One" scrawled on it. There is also several newscasts about Amazing Amy's disappearance.
