Denying rumors of retirement, AC/DC recently revealed that a new album recording might be in the works.

According to Telegraph newspaper, AC/DC frontman Brian Johnson said that the band is considering recording some music in the studio as early as next month.

"We are definitely getting together in May in Vancouver," said Johnson. "We're going to pick up some guitars, have a plonk, and see if anybody has got any tunes or ideas. If anything happens, we'll record it."

Unfortunately band founder and guitarist Malcolm Young may not be able to join in on the musical fesitivities due to sickness.

The AC/DC website features a statement regarding Young's condition.

"After forty years of life dedicated to AC/DC, guitarist and founding member Malcolm Young is taking a break from the band due to ill health. Malcolm would like to thank the group's diehard legions of fans worldwide for their never-ending love and support," said the band's website. "In light of the news, AC/DC asks that Malcolm and his family's privacy be respected during this time. The band will continue to make music."

Young, age 61, founded AC/DC in 1973.
