iPhone 6 release date looms as leaked images and rumors flood the web.
If you consider that the iPhone 5S is barely six months old, you might be wondering if Apple Inc. is ready to release its successor, the iPhone 6 and we do not know if that release is coupled with an iPhone 5c-type cheaper smartphone, or perhaps even an iWatch as promised by the Cupertino, California firm.
An update about iPhone 6 release by digitaltrends said, "Following yesterday’s leaked screenshot, we’ve now been given a look at a possible iPhone 6 front panel, showing a considerably larger screen. Additionally, there’s talk of a price increase coming with the iPhone 6."
Meanwhile, AAPL consultant, Brian Marshall, wrote in a report “Large-screen envy is prevalent among the iPhone installed base” and “we believe a ~5” form-factor iPhone would spark a massive (mother lode) upgrade cycle as well as many ‘Android switchers’ returning back to the iPhone.”
The iPhone has a tradition of being a 'premium smartphone with a premium price tag', but going by Peter Misek's belief the tag may skyrocket with the iPhone 6. His analysis shows that the iPhone 6 will be $100 more than the iPhone 5s.
He adds, Apple may already have backing by networks for the price hike, since there is “no other game-changing devices to be unveiled this year.” Networks are aware the iPhone 6 is likely to be be the only “headline-worthy high-end phone launched this year.” This might encourage networks to pick up the extra tab added to the price hike on the iPhone 6.
And as far as the availabiltity of sapphire for the iPhone, a report from Jessie Lin Digitimes Research analyst said, “US-based GT Advanced Technologies (GTAT) is setting up a factory in Arizona for exclusive supply of sapphire to Apple, with the factory to be able to meet only 9.0-16.6% of demand for sapphire used in screen covers of a new-generation iPhone in 2014.”
Also in Apple news, the Cupertino firm is turning up the volume on low end sales by introducing an 8GB variant of the iPhone 5C ahead of the ‘big iPhone 6’ launch, which is presumed to drive a massive upgrade for converts to the new iPhone 6
