North American distributor Anchor Bay has acquired the distribution rights of the anime live-action film, Kite which stars Samuel L Jackson, India Eisley, And Callan McAuliffe and trailer of the movie is shown below.
Based on a 1998 anime of the same name, Kite the movie as described by The Deadline website tells the tale of Sawa (India Eisley) a young killer living in failed state after the financial collapse, where a corrupt security force profits on human trafficking specifically young women. After her parents were killed, Sawa is on a mission of revenge and tracks down her parent's killer with the help of his father's ex-partner, Karl Aker (Samuel L. Jackson) and young man named Oburi (Callan McAuliffe).
The film is directed by Ralph Ziman and there is no confirmed release date of the film. Kite live-action film is based on an anime OVA created by Yasuomi Umetsu and a sequel was made after called Kite Liberator as a direct-to-video film.
