"Maleficent" is keeping fans very excited.
From the behind-the-scenes featurette that was recently released, both Angelina Jolie and Elle Fanning had quite a bit to reveal about the upcoming movie.
According to MTV.com, "Maleficent," directed by Richard Stromberg stars Angelina Jolie as the sorceress while Elle Fanning takes on the role of princess Aurora.
In the featurette, Elle Fanning explains, "It's the classic story of Sleeping Beauty, plus so much more."
The young actress adds, "I always felt when I watched the animated movie that I wasn't super-scared when I watched her. I was always sort of intrigued with her."
Screenwriter Linda Woolverton decided to bring out the untold fascination of Maleficent.
Woolverton says of Angelina Jolie's character, "I created a past for her that leads to the moment in which she curses Aurora, and then takes us past that moment from Maleficent's point of view. It's a reinvention, not just a retelling of the story."
The stunning Jolie also spoke of the production, stating, "We respected the classic. We've tried to bring you what you love about this story. We also hope to bring you a world you've never seen before."
She adds, "It's a very beautiful story, and I think it's very different from what people are going to expect."
While Angelina Jolie and her cheekbones have been getting quite a bit of buzz, we can't deny the fact that Elle Fanning is truly following in her sister Dakota Fanning's footsteps.
Landing a role in a movie with a scale as big as this will be pushing her career in the right direction.
"Maleficent" will be in theaters on May 30.
