A new Batman Beyond short film has been revealed in and it shows the two batmen Terry McGinnis and old Bruce Wayne face-off against what it appears to be group of "Batmen" and it is for the celebration of the Dark Knight 75th Anniversary in our lives and this a sign that the animated series will return this year?
The Batman Beyond short was created by comic book/illustrator Darwyne Cooke and is the second short to shown next to Bruce Timm's "Batman: Strange Days." The short was shown in Wondercon 2014 and features Terry McGinnis, the Batman Beyond fighting what appears to be a Batman of the Animated Series/Justice League Version. Terry tried to fight this Batman but was overly matched in skill. Eventually Terry gains the upper hand and soon discovered it was a robot and it was destroyed by the Batmobile leaving behind its belt. As Terry and old Bruce figure out what's going on they are greeted by 7 robotic versions of Batman (1989 version, Adam West version, Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns, the Bob Kane/Bill Finger original, and three animated versions from The Batman, The Brave and the Bold, and Beware the Batman) and they are ready to fight jokingly saying "pretty bad odds.... for them."
With Batman's 75th Anniversary in the media and pop culture could this be a hint that the Batman Beyond series will return to television. The series ran from January 1999-December of 2001 with three seasons, an animated movie, and several appearances from Justice League Unlimited. With that in mind Warner Bros. Animation could make an exception on bringing back Batman Beyond and with the coming of two animated movies; Son of Batman and Batman: Assault on Arkham, fans are in for a treat.
