Director of the Resident Evil film franchise Paul W.S. Anderson explained the details of the sixth Resident Evil movie dubbed Resident Evil: Rising during 2014 Beijing Film Festival after he discusses the future of 3D technology in the film industry, according to reports from CCTV. He revealed that Chinese actress Li Bingbing will reprise her role as former Umbrella agent and Albert Wesker's assistant Ada Wong.
"I have to go home tomorrow for 'Rising Resident Evil.' That's what I'm going to do. As you know, Bingbing is in the last movie, and she will be there again... After Resident Evil I want to come to China and shoot film again," said Anderson.
The last Resident Evil film, Retribution was a success grossing $240 million worldwide against a $65 million budget and in ensured that Rising may happen in the future. No further details on the film's plot, but there are some rumors circulating that this might be the last Resident Evil movie starring Milla Jovovich's character Alice as this maybe the end of her run and a "reboot" of the film franchise may take place in the future.
