Fans of Meg Ryan no longer have to miss hearing her voice on television. She, or her voice in this case, is back on TV to become the voice of Future Sally in How I Met Your Dad. This film is the upcoming spinoff to the very popular How I Met Your Mother.

However, the You've Got Mail star will not be appearing physically in the show. Based on the reports from Entertainment Weekly, the format applied in the original series will still be carried over to the spinoff. In the original series, the Future Ted has been provided with voice narration by Bob Saget. However, the entire series featured Josh Radnor playing the actual Ted. As Ryan will be the voice of the Future Sally in the upcoming series, the actual Sally will also be portrayed by Greta Gerwig. Gerwig was also involved in the writing and producing of the series. She previously starred in No Strings Attached and Frances Ha.

HIMYD will highlight Ryan's first ever regular TV stint. She also took a voice-over role in Anastasia, an animated movie released in 2007. Ryan became a household name for her roles in romantic films. Her most popular romantic movies include When Harry Met Sally, City of Angels and Sleepless in Seattle.

Other personalities that are already confirmed to be part of the HIMYD cast include Drew Tarver, Andrew Santino, Anders Holm and Nick D'Agosto. D'Agosto formerly starred in Masters of Sex while Santino's projects include Mixology.
