The Libertines will be having a reunion at Hyde Park in July.
The "Up The Bracket" hit makers broke the hearts of many fans when they disbanded in late 2004 due to Pete Doherty's drug problems, which were increasingly causing irreparable problems within the band.
The Libertines played their final show in Paris on December 17, 2004 without Doherty and had a brief reunion in 2010 at the Reading and Leeds Festival.
During the time of their split, frontmen Pete Doherty and Carl Barat focused on their respective bands Babyshambles and Dirty Pretty Things.
NME has reported that the official Libertines Facebook page has posted a picture of Hyde Park, almost as if to confirm the reunion.
Former Libertines frontman Carl Barat told Gigslutz that the possibility of the band reuniting is very high.
All fingers are crossed that they'll be playing hits from "Up The Bracket" as well as their second self-titled album.
When asked about a date for any of the live shows, Barat responded, "keep the 5th of July free."
Fans should mark their calendars now.
The Guardian reports that the Barat recently finalized the lineup of his new band, The Jackals, whom he has been continuously introducing on Facebook.
The Jackals have been working in the studio and rehearsing for their debut gig at London's Xoyo on May 15.
Although other members of The Libertines, besides the snippet we got from Barat, have yet to respond to reunion, Pete Doherty was very open on his thoughts of the reunion and why he wanted to be a part of it.
News outlets such as Consequences of Sound and the Music Charger have made reports on Doherty's recent Hebrew-language interview.
Doherty revealed that he had said yes to the opportunity for The Libertines to perform together once again.
The troubled singer stated, "I think that if you asked me the same question, most days, I'd say no. But just recently I tried to contact Carl and I couldn't reach him, and I sat down and listened to some Libertines songs on YouTube, and suddenly had a burst of nostalgia."
Doherty continued, "So I said, 'Why the hell not!' And then they told me what they would pay us and, well, I can't lie to you: I couldn't say no, at least not in my situation right now."
The Libertines fans are aware of Pete Doherty's financial problems. The troubled singer reportedly had so many unpaid bills back in 2012 that he couldn't "show his face" in London.
The ever-so-talented Pete is now allegedly struggling with alimony payments since learning that he has a year-and-a-half old daughter.
Doherty added, "It's very complicated for me to say no right now."
More updates on The Libertines reunion will be coming shortly. In the meantime, fans are recommended to go back and listen to "Up The Bracket." It's as good as it always was.
