Samsung proves time and time again that they are the leaders in innovation.
In just 10 days, their new product, the Samsung Gear Fit wearable fitness tracker are said to have sold out, with a reported 250,000.
With the wrist-mounted Samsung Gear Fit having launched around the same time with Samsung Galaxy S5 smartphone earlier this month, recent reports out of the manufacturer's native Korean have reported all 250,000 Fits available on day one have now been shifted.
While entering an unfamiliar territory, it would not be a surprise if Samsung invades this line of business as well and the numbers does not lie. Some of their competitors are Nike FuelBand SE and Jawbone UP24, the Samsung Gear Fit acts a fitness and wellbeing tracker, with an inbuilt heart rate sensor featuring alongside the device's steps, distance and calorie burn tracking credentials.
Despite Korean website MK citing unnamed industry sources in suggesting the initial production run of Gear Fits have been sold, Samsung's continued manufacturing of the device appears to be satisfying current levels of demand.
For now, seems like the biggest issue is its availability.
Although currently available through Samsung's own online and high street stores, the Samsung Gear Fit currently have little third party availability in the UK.
Attempting to buy the Fit from a third-party seller through Samsung's site sees users greeted with the message: "We are sorry, but this product is currently not available from any of our retail partners."
One of a trio of new Samsung wearables, the Gear Fit launched alongside the more traditional smartwatch offerings of the Samsung Gear 2 and cheaper, camera bereft Samsung Gear 2 Neo.
