The Jon Jones vs Alexander Gustafsson rematch may happen if Jon Jones wins vs Teixeira and things are quickly heating up between two.
Fans agree that Alexander Gustafsson clearly pushed Jon Jones to his limit but Jon Jones admitted that he only went to "80%" against the Swede!
In a recent interview with FOX Sports, UFC light-heavyweight champion, Jon 'Bones' Jones. admitted that he didn't give his full effort in his last fight against Alexander Gustafsson.
"I went 80-percent," Jones said about the Gustafsson fight. "I'm not making any excuses, Gustafsson did a great job in the fight, but I know I had a lot more in me. I did some of the cardio tests that I normally do and my numbers weren't the same. "Me knowing that, I still went into the fight thinking well since I can't perform excellent, maybe I'll still perform really, really high and still really, really good and maybe the fight will be a little bit closer if I just put half the effort in. I learned the lesson the hard way that you have to give full effort."
Jon Jones is tired of Chuck Liddell talking smack and invites him to back up the talk, inside the cage.
"You gotta expect Chuck to have his boy's back. That's what he's doing. He has been coming out and saying a lot of other stuff like, he would walk through my punches if he fought me. That he would beat me in his prime and all this type of stuff.
I'm not going to sit here and insult Chuck. He's a very loved person by the masses, so I'm just going to keep my mouth shut. But I mean it's like come on Chuck, just knock it off. I respect you.
When asked if Liddell's Executive Seat with the UFC was a conflict of interest Jones replied,
"Ya i think it is a little bit (of a conflict of interest). At the end of the day if Chuck wants to come out of retirement I welcome him to a super-fight."
