Salma Hayek, who released her Nuance skin care line back in 2011, recently revealed her troubles with acne.

Hayek explained that Nuance, which is available in CVS stores, sells at a convenient price for a reason.

"I could have made my brand a lot more expensive and it would have been a lot more successful," said the 47-year-old Mexican actress in an interview with NewBeauty magazine. "But then it wouldn’t have been accessible to all women who need it...Every woman is entitled to her youth and her beauty."

Nuance skincare is made with tepezcohuite, a plant that is used for burn victims in Mexico. Hayek believes the plant has an anti-aging component.

There was a point in time that Hayek had such a problem with acne that she couldn't get through the day.

"There were days I used to wake up, look in the mirror and go straight back to bed because my acne was so bad, so I get it….most brands still don’t want to give a solution because they think it’s not chic – it’s actually shocking. I think that’s terrible," said the star.

When taking care of her skin, Hayek keeps it simple.

"I don’t believe in abandoning it and then trying to fix it with something really drastic, really fast," she said.
