It's official: Gwen Stefani is joining The Voice as a new coach for season seven.
The former No Doubt singer announced the news on Instagram with a photo of her own version of The Voice's iconic hand gesture and a caption reading, "It's true!"
NBC also announced Tuesday that Christina Aguilera, who served as a coach for seasons one, two, three and five, will also return to The Voice's line-up for season eight.
Aguilera expressed her congratulations to her season seven fill-in. "So excited to have you join #TheVoice squad @GwenStefani! Welcome to our crazy fam! Kisses- xoxo #blondesdoitbest," she tweeted.
Stefani, who will take a seat next to veteran judges Adam Levine and Blake Shelton, won't be the only newbie on the block: Pharrell Williams will be taking over for CeeLo Green.
And while Shelton has already sized up the competition, Daly is looking forward to Stefani's influence over the contestants.
"She's friends with the other coaches but has a strong opinion, which is also important," he said. "They can't all just be too lovey out there. So I think she'd be a solid choice."
Aguilera, who is pregnant with her second child, previously served as a coach alongside Levine, Shelton and CeeLo Green. Green announced he was done with the singing competition on an episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show. Shakira and Usher also serve as coaches.
News of Stefani's involvement with The Voice broke in mid-April, with a source telling E! News she was on board, but the deal was not official just yet.
The Voice remains one of NBC's most popular series. The sixth season premiere had close to 16 million viewers and a 4.7 rating in the coveted 18-49 demographic.
