"Harry Potter" star Daniel Radcliffe's performance in "The Cripple of Inishmaan" seemed to be lackluster in the eyes of the judges as Tony snubbed the British actor for the third time in a row despite getting rave reviews.
On Tuesday, the nominees for the Tony Awards were announced and the name of "Harry Potter" star Daniel Radcliffe wasn't included.
In Martin Mcdonagh's "The Cripple of Inishmaan," Daniel Radcliffe plays the character of a disabled young man whose dream of being included in the documentary of life in the isolated island becomes an obsession.
This is the third time that Daniel Radcliffe received a Tony snub after his first two forays in Broadway through "Equus" in 2008 and "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying" in 2011, according to L.A. Times.
In "Equus," which tells the story of a teenager who lost his virginity to an older woman, Daniel Radcliffe even went full frontal for the promotional material of the play.
Fans took to Twitter to weigh in on Tony snub of "Harry Potter" star Daniel Radcliffe, per bustle.com:
User @rippleintime17 wrote: "I do wonder what Daniel Radcliffe will have to do to get a Tony nom. Being fully naked, learning to dance and adopting a limp not enough."
Another user @ryan_hallett chimed in: "Who the f--k does Daniel Radcliffe need to blow to get a Tony nomination? Yet another brilliant performance gone unrecognized! #DanOnBway."
Then @ryanmccabe added: "at this rate, I'll have a @TheTonyAwards nomination before Daniel Radcliffe does."
The official nominees for the Tony Awards for best performance by an actor in a leading role or play include: Bryan Cranston for "All The Way," Samuel Barnett for "Twelfth Night," Tony Shalhoub for "Act One," Chris O'Dowd for "Of Mice and Men" and Mark Rylance for "Richard III."
