On April 29, 2014, the Korea Red Cross said, "A person named Wang Ji Hyun gave a hundred thousand dollars for the ferry Sewol incident and the families of those involved in the incident." The Korean Red Cross said they realized actress Jun Ji Hyun has given for the ferry incident when they were reconfirming the large amounts of money sent to them for the ferry incident. Actress Jun Ji Hyun said, "I feel so terrible whenever I hear the news about the unfortunate students and their families. I really want the families who are left to not lose hope. It is from my small heart, but I want to share the pain of the families of the involved." Previously, actress Jun Ji Hyun canceled her event in Myung Dong on April 17, 2014, to show her condolences for the ferry incident. In 2012 when Jun Ji Hyun got married, she donated all of the money she received as a congratulations to a charity as well.
