Jon Hamm famous for his turn as Don Draper on Mad Men, can be seen a completely different role as a sports agent in the upcoming Disney film “Million Dollar Arm.” The movie is directed by Craig Gillespie (Lars and the Real Girl) and also stars Lake Bell, John Hammond, Aasif Mandvi and Bill Paxton. The baseball film was inspired by true events and tells the story of sports agent J.B. Bernstein (Hamm), a real-life Jerry Maguire. Bernstein strikes out on his own and the defensive lineman he's been trying to land as a client ditches him for a big corporate agency. In order to save his career, Bernstein goes to India with a brilliant new plan: to find cricket players he can turn into Major League Baseball's next superstars in America. He finds two boys Rinku Singh and Dinesh Patel (Life of Pi's Suraj Sharma and Slumdog Millionaire's Madhur Mittal) who are amazing cricket players. However, Bernstein soon finds out that his life is about to become about more than just making a commission; he has become responsible for the boys as human beings.

''He learns how to be a better human being,'' says Hamm about his role. ''I spend the majority of my year playing not the best human being on the planet,'' he adds in references to his role as Don Draper on Mad Men. The production shot in India for almost a month, often in 120-degree heat, which gave Hamm perspective on what Bernstein had achieved. ''Once you see India, you see what J.B. met with on day one,'' Hamm says. ''If it were me, I would have been like, 'Nope, this is never going to happen.'''

“Anyone can make this stuff up, but when it happens to real people, in real life, I think the emotional impact is even more so,” Hamm told "Nightline" about the story during filming in Atlanta last summer.

Million Dollar Arm is set to be released on May 16, 2014.
