A Pixar movie 2014 will be released despite initial reports that the production outfit has none this year. The studio's "Planes: Fire and Rescue" has been scheduled for release as their lone summer flick for the year.

Originally, no movies were lined up for release in 2014. As reported by Telegraph.co.uk, in September 2013, the only title that was scheduled for the current year was "The Good Dinosaur" starring Neil Patrick Harris, Frances McDormand, and Judy Greer, among others. The film was supposed to be released on May 30th, but was pushed back for November 2015.

In a statement released by Pixar's president Ed Catmull, the studio was dissatisfied with the film's creative development, and has fired its director, Bob Peterson.

"Nobody ever remembers the fact that you slipped a film, but they will remember a bad film," Catmull explained. "Our conclusion was that we were going to give the [dinosaur] film some more time."

But in a recent turn of events, it looks like a Pixar movie 2014 release is happening. "Planes: Fire And Rescue" is slated for theatrical release on July 18, by Walt Disney Studios, Pixar's parent company.

The Pixar movie 2014 is a sequel to its 2013 release "Planes", which is a spin-off of its successful "Cars" franchise. It is directed by Bobs Gannaway (House of Mouse, Stitch! The Movie, Mickey's House of Villains), and produced by DisneyToon Studios.

The film stars stand-up comedian Dane Cook, who plays the voice of world famous air racer Dusty Crophopper. When Crophopper realizes that his damaged engine has threatened him that he may never race again, he shifts gears and gets himself into a wildfire air attack.

He teams up with veteran fire and rescue helicopter Blade Ranger (voice by Ed Harris) and his air attack squad composed of super scooper Lil' Dipper (voice by Julie Bowen), ex-military transport Cabbie (voiced by Dale Dye) and a team of all-terrain vehicles knows as "The Smokejumpers."

Other notable names in the cast of the said Pizar movie 2014 are comedian Bryan Callen (who plays the voice of Avalanche), Eric Estrada (as the voice of Nick "Loop'n" Lopez), and veteran actor Jerry Stiller (as the voice of Harvey).
