After a long and emotional custody battle involving her mother, Chrisoula "Crystal" Workman, a judge named Winter's older sister as her permanent guardian Monday morning, according to People.
In addition to naming the sister as Ariel Winter's guardian, the Modern Actress' father, Glenn Workman, will be in full control of the child star's finances until the child star turns 18. Claims of Chrisoula Workman's physical and emotional abuse toward Ariel Winter is what caused her to be removed from her mother's home and temporary guardianship was granted to her older sister. This however ensued a family feud involving not just her mother, but older brother Jimmy Workman.
According to E!, a settlement was reached in favor of her older sister when Chrisoula Workman finally relented and dropped her objections on the condition that her daughters watch a video montage of family photos before the court adjourned. This however did not sway Ariel's decision to stay with her older sister.
