A second trailer for the new 2014 TMNT movie is hitting the web and thanks to hypebeast.com, we get a second glimpse of the action that producer Michael Bay is known for.
At this point, it looks like fans and detractors will have to wait for the movie premiere to see if the Michael Bay-produced movie will actually bring the franchise to new heights or (as some writers have put it) "rape your beloved childhood".
While there are similarities from the first TMNT 2014 movie trailer, like the impression of the Transformers vibe and Raphael exhibiting army-jeep-smashing powers, we also get a closer look of all the Turtles in their full unrealistic CGI glory. Whether this will be altered to look more realistic come the movie premiere, only time will tell.
We also get to see a glimpse of Master Splinter and Shredder in the TMNT's second trailer; is it just me or does Shredder looks like a movie Megatron-cosplay rather than menacing villain we are all used to? Again, only time will tell.
According to examiner.com, TMNT fans are now clamouring over the possibility that the Turtles were made in a lab rather than with serendipity playing a part in their eventual mutation. Moreover, die-hard TMNT fans fear that Shredder may even have a hand in ‘creating' the Ninja Turtles; this however is based merely on speculation on what was revealed in the first TMNT trailer.
In an interview with blastr.com, Co-TMNT creator Peter Laird claims that the when concerning the overall look of the Turtles:
"I was impressed with what I saw of the production values -- if nothing else, it looks like the new TMNT movie will have a lot of stuff going on and looking good (that toppling tower, for example) -- but the changes to the basic design of the Turtles seemed to me to fall into the ‘fixing what is not broken' category. It's altogether possible that, in the context of this new movie, these designs will work well and not seem so odd, but I still point to what Jim Henson's Creature Shop team did with their rendering of the Turtles in rubber and paint as the best translation (in live action, anyway) of the Turtles as Kevin Eastman and I created them."
Again, we all just have to wait and see (the movie).
