If dark and gritty is what Producer Michael Bay is trying to achieve in the TMNT 2014 movie, then the newly surfaced pictures of the TMNT 2014 Action Figures tell a different story.

Now that the new TMNT 2014 movie release is nearing, comicsalliance.com has released an updated picture of the Action Figures that come with the movie.

Although pictures of the four Ninja Turtles have already been seen around the internet, this is the first time we get a look at Splinter, April O' Neil, and the much anticipated Shredder.

Taking a step back at the initial look of the figures, it's obvious that it does have a touch of the "bombastic and highly debated childhood raping" Michael Bay approach. Just like what we saw in the trailer, each Turtles' individual personality is emphasized on how they physically look:

Donatello sports night vision goggles-like gadget, Leonardo has Samurai-like armour, Raphael has his brawler demeanour, and Michelangelo has on a sweater-spandex combo (Bay really seems to love ticking off TMNT fans).

Now we take a look at the Megan Fox - April O'Neil figure and it looks very much like what the set pictures from comingsoon.net look like. The figure sports a DSLR Camera accessory as compared to what was seen briefly in the first trailer where she was seen sporting a smart phone.

The Splinter Figure on the other hand is very tiny compared to every other figure and does give hints that the creators were going for a Yoda-like impression.

The Shredder figure is the most interesting, being covered in razor blades from head to toe, with his helmet looking like it's irremovable (to never conceal his identity?) and sporting a cape suspiciously made out of razor blades (Yeah, more blades!!!).

All in all it looks like the figures are aiming to appeal to kids and adult collectors alike, with the mix of a "dark and gritty" mould capped off with an eye catching, colorful pain app. I can hear Bay's detractors now:
"Yes, this will take the TMNT franchise to new heights and further prove that Michael Bay is God's gift to mankind. Please kill us now."
