Masters of Sex Season 2 first look video has been released. Showtime also announced that the second-season premiere of Masters of Sex has been moved to Sunday, July 13 at 10/9c. Michael Sheen and Lizzy Caplan star as the lead characters, Dr. William Masters and Virginia Johnson, two pioneering researchers of human sexuality at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri in the second season of Masters of Sex.

The first season of Masters of Sex received critical acclaim. Based on 49 reviews collected by Rotten Tomatoes, the first season received a 90% approval rating from critics, with a rating average of 8.4 out of 10. Diane Werts of Newsday gave it an "A" grade, complimenting the series on its use of humor, stating "its deft balance of epic scope and whimsical humanity", as well as the strong performances of the actors and creator Michelle Ashford's "scene-setting scripts".

Masters Of Sex executive producer Sarah Timberman opened up to EW after the finale of the first season about what Season 2 will have in store for the relationship between William Masters and Virginia Johnson. “I’ll tell you that even what happens between Masters and Johnson in that moment after the doorstep is open to interpretation by each of them, which is what we all do in any relationship. You hope you’re on the same page as another person when you’re engaged in a friendship or in a romance or in a professional relationship — but in the end, what happens between people in life is so highly subjective. Where it picks up, in season 2 is a very provocative exploration of how things are experienced differently — how the same moment can be experienced differently by different people.”

Looks like Virginia Johnson (Lizzy Caplan) has some money troubles in the second season of the show. “I’m not going to take your money,” Virginia says in the first look of the second season. “You took Master’s,” says Dr. Lillian DePaul.

Annaleigh Ashford, who has a recurring role in the first season as Betty DiMello, will be promoted to series regular in season two.
