Solange Knowles is a “fighter” says Jay-Z’s former business partner Damon Dash on his Instagram. The hip-hop mogul was commenting on the news about the fight between Solange and her brother-in-law Jay-Z. When not fighting with hip-hop moguls, Knowles has also been busy recording music with electronica stars Chromeo, including a new song “Lost on the Way.”

TMZ released a video of Solange Knowles and Jay-Z in a fight in an elevator at the Boom Boom Room at New York's Standard Hotel last week on May 5. The 27-year-old sister of Beyonce can be seen in the video clawing and kicking at her brother-in-law as the "Halo" singer looks on.

It's unclear what caused the argument as there is no sound on the black and white surveillance video, but a source told Us Weekly, "Solange flipped out over something Jay had said, that she took the wrong way”

Damon Dash, who founded Roc-A-Fella records with Jay-Z back in the day, posted a photo of Solange and captioned it “Forgot about this one @ava_dash @atrak and solange ...I am actually impressed with her independent spirit... She seems like a fighter #festivallife” after news of the fight between Knowles and Jay-Z broke.

Meanwhile, Knowles recently teamed up with Chromeo once again on a new song 'Lost On The Way.' They have previously collaborated on their upbeat disco track "When The Night Falls” three years ago. “Lost On The Way” is one of the singles from the Canadian synth-pop duo's new LP “White Women.”

Solange wrote on her Saint Heron website, "After working with Chromeo on 'When the Night Falls' from the last album, I was super excited to get back in and work together. They came down to Long Island to this house where I was working on my album late last summer, and they played me a few tracks. When they played the instrumental for 'Lost on the Way,' I immediately knew that was the jam."

Knowles continued about the collaboration, "I wrote the melodies and lyrics to my parts super fast and recorded it that night. It flowed really organically and working with [Chromeo] always feels that way."

White Women is Chromeo's fourth studio album. The album will be released on May 12 but is available to stream now.

According to the Music Times, Solange is also working on a new album which will be released in the fall. It will be her first full-length release since 2008 album “Sol-Angel and the Hadley St Dreams.”
