Eminem said sorry to mom Debbie Mathers in a touching music video released in time for Mother's Day. The official music video, hosted on Vevo and directed by Spike Lee, already received more than 2.5 million hits in just two days.

The song "Headlights" is track 15 of "The Marshall Mathers LP 2" and according to rapgenius.com, the beat is similar to John Lennon's "Mother." The lyrics present a stark contrast to the previous rap songs where Eminem or Marshall Mathers in real life was dissing his estranged mother Debbie Mathers.

The lyrics of "Headlights" are replete with words showing Eminem saying sorry to mom Debbie Mathers, and how he acted out of anger in releasing the 2002 track"Cleaning Out My Closet," which was mentioned two times in the song, and probably the 2009 track, "My Mom," which was part of the "Relapse" album.

"But I'm sorry momma for "Cleaning Out My Closet," at the time I was angry/

Rightfully, maybe so, never meant that far to take it though/

Cause, now I know it's not your fault and I'm not making jokes/

That song I'll no longer play at shows and I cringe every time it's on the radio," Emimem raps.

Eminem said sorry to mom, Yahoo! Celebrity noted, for not letting her share the joy of being a grandmother to his children. The lyrics of "Headlights" revealed that the rapper's estranged mother Debbie Mathers only met her grandchildren once.

In the movie "8 Mile," which was billed to be based on his own life, Kim Basinger plays Eminem's estranged mother Debbie Mathers. The mother in the film is portrayed as a character who has problems with alcohol, never supported her child's dreams, and was at times abusive both verbally and physically.

"But as stubborn as we are, did I take it too far, 'Cleaning Out My Closet'

And all them other songs, but regardless I don't hate you

Cause ma, you're still beautiful to me, cause you're my mom," the "Headlights" lyrics stated.
