Gundam Build Fighters season 2 is in the works as it was announced in the show's official website. The website didn't gave much details regarding the show, and the only hint so far is the show's new tagline that says "GUNPLA BATTLE NEXT FIGHTERS STAND BY". This could indicate that the show will have a different story than the previous season.
The story of Gundam Build Fighters is set on a universe where Gunpla Battles, competitions that pit Gundam plastic models against each other, have become popular worldwide in the "Second Gunpla Boom." Sei Iori, a first-year middle-school student and the only son of a model shop owner. He is talented at building Gunpla, but inexperienced in the Gunpla Battles. He encounters a mysterious boy named Reiji who happens to be an accomplished Gundam Fighter. Together, they strive for the Gunpla Battle world championships.
The anime show was aired in Japan for 25 episodes from October 7, 2013, to March 31, 2014. Thanks to the story featuring many popular mobile suits from the successive Gundam series, and it has pushed the sales of Bandai's Gunpla (Gundam model kits) more than recent years.
That's not all; season 2 will feature new Gundam mobile suits that are rumored to join the show.
According to one of the Gundam fan pages, the Gundams that are joining Season 2 are the Strike Freedom Gundam in Gundam Seed Destiny, Wing Gundam Zero custom of Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz, Gundam AGE-FX from Gundam AGE, and Gundam 00 Qan(T) in Gundam 00. These mobile suits have been used by the protagonist of their respected shows and would probably have new modified looks like the prevous Gundams such as the Strike Gundam, Gundam X, and Wing Gundam.
