Reports of the Kim and Kanye wedding plans peg the venue at Versailles, Paris. It was previously rumored that they will tie the knot in Florence, Italy.
The couple has chosen one of the most decadent places as the backdrop for their wedding. The Palace of Versailles, just outside of Paris, has five spaces to accommodate events. Reports say they're exchanging vows at the Orangerie.
The confusion in the details of the venue was caused in part by a confirmation from the Mayor's office in Florence, which went on record that the Kim and Kanye wedding will indeed push through in the city.
The Orangerie was used as backdrop for several high-profile nuptials. The most expensive wedding involved steel magnate Lakshmi Mittal's daughter, with a reported billing cost of $141,000.
The Palace of Versailles was home to several kings, and is a national landmark outside Paris. Louis XIV lived a luxurious life here in the 1600's, as well as Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette.
Antoinette was criticized by the people for her decadent lifestyle, to which she replied "Let them eat cake," a fitting tagline for the Kim and Kanye wedding.
The 350-year old castle has two huge staircases, the "One Hundred Steps." Around 1,200 trees flourish in its gardens throughout the summer.
The couple is set to tie the knot on the 24th, pending a delay concerning Kanye West's management. The rapper recently severed ties with his old manager and signed a new partnership with Jay-Z's Roc Nation, causing a few details unsettled in the prenup.
Jay-Z is currently smoothing the details of the contract, and the couple will sign the prenup within the week. Sources report the agreement isn't an issue, and the Kim and Kanye wedding will push through after the couple takes a holiday tour in Paris before the wedding day.
The Orangerie will accommodate events starting May 20, a few days before the couple ties the knot (tmz.com).
