Marilyn Manson's mom, Barbara J. Warner, succumbed to a long bout of dementia on Tuesday as the rocker expressed his grief over the death of his mother through social media. She was 68.
According to CantonRep.com, Marilyn Manson's mom "peacefully passed" with husband, Brian H. Warner, and son, Hugh A. Warner, surviving her.
The website also stated that funeral services are being handled by Lamiell Funeral Home and condolences may be extended through their website, www.lamiellfuneralhome.com. Also, the family seeks donations in lieu of flowers in favor of the Alzheimer's Association.
Marilyn Manson expressed his grief over his mother's death via Facebook and Twitter, and said he expects to see his mother "again someday."
The musician added on the social networking sites: "But not now, because I have more things I promised I would do. I'll make you proud and satisfied that you know that you made the son you wanted. I love you."
On Facebook, several fans extended their condolences to the family.
Marilyn Manson's mom had a close relationship the musician. It was Barbara, who led the rock star to believe in religion.
"My first memories of religion were being taken to Episcopal church," Manson said during a 2001 interview with Anthony DeCurtis. "My father was Catholic, but my mother, I believe, was Episcopal. So I sort of veered off into the watered-down version of Catholicism."
It wasn't until 2012 that Manson announced his mother's battle with dementia and her suffering created a negative impact on his well-being.
"I don't have the same ambition and drive, the determination, the fearlessness, the anger and relentlessness that I had when I started this," he said.
The rock icon is set to go on tour in late June, with scheduled performances in Russia, Ukraine, Netherlands and Belgium.
The death of Marilyn Manson's mom taught him a valuable lesson. "Coming to terms with mortality - not of my own, because I've always been fearless of that, and I'm never afraid to die for what I believe in," Manson said.
