Looks like Sword Art Online's hype is getting stronger as the TV spot for Sword Art Online season 2 teases fans of a glimpse of things to come within the show. Plus the SAO creator Reki Kawahara and character designer abec will make an appearance in the Anime Expo 2014 for special Sword Art Online event.
German distributer Peppermint TV began streaming a 15-second TV spot for Sword Art Online season 2 and hints several scenes which include the new game Gun Gale Online (GGO), Kirito and Sinon's appearances, and new bad guys that our heroes will encounter in season 2.
SAO season 2 will focus on the Gun Gale Online arc where in Kirito plays a new online game that focuses the usage of guns, and gun skills. Kirito was asked to play the game to investigate a series of murders that is somehow linked with assassinations within the GGO. The perpetrators were actually shown in the TV spot as members of a player-killer guild called Laughing Coffin. Kirito will also encounter a female player named Sinon who is an expert sniper within GGO, and she will serve as Kirito's rival much to his chagrin.
In other news, The Anime Expo 2014 will play host to a special SAO event which will feature SAO creator Reki Kawahara and character designer abec as they give talks about the latest development within SAO and show their gratitude and appreciation for their fans.
It was reported that the event will screen SAO season 2 on July 4 while Crunchyroll will stream season 2 on July 5, according to the SAO official website. The series will stream in China on LeTV, in Taiwan on i-funtv, and in French-speaking countries (France, Switzerland, Belgium, Algeria, Monaco, Tunisia, and in Quebec, Canada) on Wakanim. Daisuki will stream the series in the rest of Europe. Additionally, the show will air in Korea on the cable TV station Aniplus and will also air in Thailand and Singapore on cable TV.
The show will also air in Japan via Tokyo MX TV on July 5 at 11:30 p.m. before the show also airs on MBS, TV Aichi, tvk, BS11 and several other stations. The series will also stream in niconico and the d Anime Store.
