Anne Hathaway's "Song One" musical, where she played the role of Franny, is set to be released in commercial theatres by fall as the actress joins a star-studded wedding clip that's now gaining media frenzy.
According to Variety, the announcement of distribution rights was made by two companies, Cinedigm Corp. and The Film Arcade.
Anne Hathaway's "Song One" focuses on Franny, an anthropologist doing research in Morocco, but comes back to New York upon news that her brother Henry, played by Ben Rosenfield, goes into a coma due to an accident.
"We love the authenticity of the family relationships, the romantic chemistry of the leads and the incredible role the original music plays in Kate's film," Andy Bohn and Vincent Scordino of The Film Arcade in a press release.
Anne Hathaway's "Song One" made its debut during the 2014 Sundance Film Festival. Written and directed by Kate Barker-Froyland, the film's beautiful storytelling mainly depended on the amount of musical talent.
"Every song conveys a unique feeling, chosen carefully to fit each scene. We recorded all the music live so performances of many wonderful musicians and singers are captured in the moment. Songwriters Jenny Lewis and Johnathan Rice were the perfect people to tell the stories of James and Henry through their music," Barker-Froyland said.
Meanwhile, a wedding video has sparked a round of media frenzy as it contained greetings from several A-list actors, including Anne Hathaway herself.
The "Rio 2" and "Les Miserables" star joined other Hollywood celebrities such as Cameron Diaz, Hugh Jackman, Zac Efron, Kate Winslet and Samuel L. Jackson in congratulating Jenny, the wife of journalist Joe Michalczuk, who made the video compilation.
"Jenny, I dreamed a dream you'd marry Joe," Hathaway quipped.
Aside from "Song One," Hathaway is also set to star along side Matthew McConaughey, Jessica Chastain and Bill Irwin in the science-fiction film "Interstellar," scheduled to be released this November.
