DOTA 2 Heroes: Defense Of The Ancients or Dota is a MOBA game, a multiplayer Online Battle Arena game developed by Valve Corporation and released last year in June 2013 for Microsoft Windows, as a free game.
The latest update for the game is the Fantasy League, Season One.
1-FANTASY LEAGUE, SEASON ONE
The DOTA team has announced that its latest update is the Fantasy League. The league starts on the 19th of May 2014 and you need to get your teams along with the rosters ready before that.
If you possess a compendium, it is your ticket for accessing the league. All you need to do is to go to the community tab and there you will be able to view the options for the Fantasy League.
2-THE COMPENDIUM SITE
The Loading Screen Treasure has been shipped and this will be granted to all those who own Compendiums. There are also other rewards for which the finishing touches process is still going on. For instance, these are the Special edition HUD as well as the Immortal Rewards that will be available in a short time.
Another new feature of the update is that the Arcana Vote is unlocked. You can input it to your Compendium. This vote involves voting for a hero of your choice for the 16 groups, so that they can survive. The remaining ones are pitted against one another in a 'death match' where one of the pair is eliminated, so that the next receiver of the Arcana can be determined. The Compendium website has also been updated in order that you can view the release state related to the Stretch Goal.
If you do still not have your Compendium, you can make a purchase at any time and you will receive the rewards when you make the purchase.
3-SPRING CLEANING UPDATE
A shiny new update has also been offered as a part of the spring-cleaning. You can view the changes in the 'change log' of your gameplay. It is a single day event where the adjustments in the 6.81 gameplay have been revised. The update page will have all the details of the changes, such as the increase in the exterminators and squashing of a bugs colony and so on.
This update will be released in May, where you can also access two additional treasures. These treasures are different from the previous ones, as you can buy them from the Dota 2 store directly and you also don't need to open any seal. All you need to do is to purchase the Treasure and then open it to get new heroes.
As for news regarding tournaments, The International Regional Qualifiers is about to take place in another two weeks, so you can find out more about the match timings and the Teams.
4-UPDATE ON MAY 8TH 2014
The May update brings in a lot of changes by fixing the Captain Mode display of the default team. Visual bugs that were showing a wrong number in case of battle points were also fixed. An additional button for editing Official Player was also offered to use in the personal profile of players. There was another problem where the game used to count players as having left the game, if there was a disruption in the connectivity with the Steam.
This bug was also fixed with the update. At other times, the game used to be a bit unsafe for leaving when the player disconnected the game or abandoned it suddenly. This was made safe by the recent update. A chest slot has been added to the Wraith King along with two additional treasures with 8 sets, and a bulldog known as Butch.
