San Francisco Giants vs. Colorado Rockies FREE LIve Streaming Online from Coors Field at 3:10 PM ET, TRADE RUMORS?
The Rockies hope Jorge De La Rosa can add another victory against the Giants to his impressive stretch as they try to avoid losing back-to-back home games for the first time this season Thursday.
Colorado (26-21) managed five hits in a 5-1 loss to San Francisco on Wednesday after recording at least 11 in each of its previous three games.
The Giants (29-18) were powered by three solo home runs, winning despite being without Buster Posey for a second straight contest due to nerve irritation in his lower back.
Manager Bruce Bochy said Posey has a chance to be back in the lineup Thursday but San Francisco now has to worry about Matt Cain and reliever Santiago Casilla, who are scheduled for MRIs after exiting Wednesday's game with strained right hamstrings.
"The win was great," Hunter Pence said. "But it's a huge blow to lose Cain and Casilla."
De La Rosa (5-3, 4.14 ERA) had been 1/3 with an 8.00 ERA in his previous six starts against San Francisco before his run of five straight victories began with an 8-2 win over the Giants on April 21. He limited the Giants to one run over five innings.
The left-hander has posted a 2.03 ERA in his last five outings after recording a 7.58 mark through his first four starts. He gave up one hit over seven scoreless innings in a 3-1 victory over San Diego on Friday.
Tim Hudson gave up two runs over six innings and didn't get a decision in his most recent outing, a 7-4 road win over the Dodgers on May 11. It was the first time in eight starts this season that he failed to complete at least seven innings.
