Arizona Diamondbacks vs. St. Louis Cardinals FREE Major League Baseball: Online Streaming of MLB from Busch Stadium at 8:05 PM ET Will Cubs Make Trades to Improve?
St. Louis (25-21) is 6-2 on this homestand, which started in rocky fashion by giving up a season-high 20 hits while falling 17-5 to the Cubs on May 12. The Cardinals, though, have regrouped and compiled a 2.09 ERA -- 1.84 from the rotation -- over the last seven games.
Their starters have been masterful in this series - Adam Wainwright tossed a one-hitter in a 5-0 win over Arizona on Tuesday before Michael Wacha pitched six scoreless innings in a 3-2 victory in 12 on Wednesday.
Wacha, though, exited after getting struck on the right elbow by a foul liner while sitting in the dugout.
That was also the case against Arizona on June 3, when Lynn yielded one run in seven innings of a 7-1 home victory. He's 2-0 with a 2.37 ERA in five games -- three starts -- versus the Diamondbacks (18-30).
That may not change in the series finale since Adams has six hits over his past three meetings with the Diamondbacks, and five have gone for extra bases.
Arizona has been feast or famine at the plate during a 2-4 stretch. The team has totaled three runs and 19 hits in those defeats compared to 23 and 32, respectively, in the victories.
