E! Online recently reported that Ellen DeGeneres' Oscar photos were used in a graduation dance poster of St. Andrew Elementary School in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. Later, school principal Nancy Matteo email the parents of the graduating students an apology for using Ellen DeGeneres' Oscar photos, saying that she was "completely wrong" to use the talk show host's photos because she "lives her life outside the teachings of the Catholic Church!"
She also noted that she was distracted by Ellen DeGeneres' Oscar in the photo and even tells that the celebrity is a "poor role model" to students, saying, "a role model... is a person who is unusually effective or inspiring in some social role, job, or position. We work so hard to be role models and then I go and do something stupid!"
But did Ellen DeGeneres' Oscar photo had really caused serious moral damage to the students of the school? While it's bad to use photographs without permission from their respective owners, does the principal really have to badmouth the funny talk show host? Ellen DeGeneres has yet to comment about this issue.
