Obviously, Nicole Kidman is far from being blinded by the glitz and glamor that the entertainment industry could offer. It is undebatable that she is one of the most talented actresses the industry has ever been blessed with. Her prowess and professionalism could explain why her career remained solid and strong for approximately three decades.

However, the 'Grace of Monaco' lead star would wish for anything, except for any of her children to follow her footsteps. "I think, as a parent, the last thing you want is your child to be an actor, because it's really a tough existence," Kidman shared. "We're always waiting for somebody to choose us and say, 'I believe in you', and there are only certain people who can handle that."

Furthermore, she also emphasized that she would support and protect her children if any of them would ever decide to pursue the acting profession. "A lot of the attacks are personal attacks, a lot of the rejections are personal rejections. If my children wanted to be actors I would support them but I'd also want to protect them," says Kidman.

The actress gave this statement during an interview at the Cannes Film Festival. Kidman stars as Grace Kelly for the controversial biopic, 'Grace of Monaco'. Kidman is a mother of four - an adopted son, a daughter with first husband, Tom Cruise, and two daughters with second husband, Keith Urban.

Kidman also recalled how her own parents were critical about her decision to pursue the entertainment industry. They thought she was too sensitive for such profession. Kidman is the daughter of a clinical psychologist and a nursing teacher. Kidman made her debut film when she was 16 years old.

She married Cruise in 1990 at the age of 23 and got divorced at 2001, at a time when the actress' career was soaring high. Kidman shared, "That was a very strange time in my life because it was the collision of professional success and personal failure."
