"Valiant Hearts:The Great War" release date is set for June 25, as DLC in multiple platforms. The latest gameplay screenshots depicts a narrative told with kitschy comics-style graphics.

Ubisoft Montpellier will likely showcase a preview of the game at E3 in June. Concept art of gameplay offers a sampling of what to expect just the same.

Valiant Hearts: The Great War is a puzzle game at its core, but developers managed to enhance it with an aesthetic twist and a compelling narrative. The story is set in the thick of World War 1 for starters, a theme rarely tackled in games.

With screenshots leaked and officially revealed prior to Valiant Hearts The Great War release date, the cartoony graphics offers a stark contrast to the game's heavy themes. Loss, vengeance, reconciliation, friendship are tackled in what seems like a continuous pane of comics narrative.

Art Director Paul Tumelaire is behind the concept art. Ubisoft Montpellier noticed the emotional edge in his work and decided to tap his services for the project.

In a video blog, Tumelaire discusses the creative process of the game's conceptualization. The interview also offers a teaser in anticipation of Valiant Hearts The Great War release date. IP director Adrian Lacey collaborates with insights on how an unlikely art approach takes the story in a totally different narrative route.

Gamers will weave through puzzles strewn across enemy territory, to survive and to progress. The narrative is non-linear, and there's a variety of ways items can be used, for solving puzzles or for trivial purposes. A bone is part of a crucial puzzle but may be discarded as a dog's plaything, for example.

Five characters are available to players, with storylines that cross and separate at different points in the game. Valiant Hearts The Great War release date is set next month, available for the Xbox One and Xbox 360, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3, and in Windows PC (kdramastars.com.)
