Emma Watson, 24, graduated from Brown University on Sunday. News states that the British actress, known as Hermione Granger in the top grossing film Harry Potter, was seen accompanied by an undercover police officer throughout the ceremony.

According to the photos published by Daily Mail, the female police officer at first escorted Watson onto the university campus dressed in pink shirt and blue jeans, which her police badge was attached to. Later on, the officer changes into a graduation cap and gown to appear more discreet. Watson was seated between the officer and her mother, Jacqueline Luesby, throughout the outdoor ceremony in Rhode Island.

Fox News reported that providence Police Chief Steven Pare says the woman is not a Providence officer.

When asked if she was a campus police officer and why the guard was necessary, Brown rep Mark Nickel said on says he is unable to answer questions about why Watson had an undercover armed guard with her during graduation ceremonies.

Reportedly, Watson enrolled at Brown in 2009, before dropping out to shoot the final Harry Potter film, in which she starred as the studious witch Hermione Granger.

It took five years to earn her diploma as she took a break in 2011 to focus on her career amid the release of the final Harry Potter film.

"She took a "gap year" after the Harry Potter movies, did a few semesters at Oxford, took a few off and oh, made a few blockbuster movies in the middle," Daily Life stated.

The actress recently described her experience of being a famous actress in school.

"I guess everyone in their freshman [first] year is nervous and figuring it all out," she said in an interview posted in Express. "I think people took pity on me. 'She's English, she doesn't really know where she's going.' Brown were weirdly protective of me. They saw it as their role to help me have that experience," she added.

Watson completed a degree in English Literature. Her mother Jacqueline Luesby was also present during the graduation ceremony.
