Apple Beats deal has come to fruition with Dr.Dre coming to Cupertino. AAnd it looks like Apple is getting into some serious rap.

As prt of the deal with $2.4 billion as ccash up front and $600 million as vested stock. What about Dr, Dre? The two co-founders Dre and Jimmy Levine will be part tof the Cupertino family henceforth.

The deal finalized after much debate, and you can expect to sssee more of the Beat Duo at the WWDC 2014 in San Francisco.

Apple CEO Tim Cook’s interview with Re/code, Peter Kafka asked Cook: 'This is such an unusual deal for Apple. Why did you make it?'

CEO Tim Cook replied, 'This is all about music, and we’ve always viewed that music was key to society and culture. Music’s always been at the heart of Apple. It’s deep in our DNA. We’ve sold Macs to musicians since the beginning of Macs. And we accelerated the music industry with the digital music revolution with the iPod and the iTunes music store.'

He added, 'So we’ve always loved music and believed in the power of it and believed that it could transcend language, culture and bring people together and produce emotions and deep feelings that other things can’t. And we’ve stood at the intersection of technology and the liberal arts. So I see this right in the — if you were drawing a line, this would be the logical next data point.'

Cook continued to say, 'What Beats brings to Apple are guys with very rare skills. People like this aren’t born every day. They’re very rare. They really get music deeply. So we get an infusion in Apple of some great talent.'

'Looking at Beats Music accounts, it had 49,371 individual

accounts and 61,621 "family" accounts in March, fototal of almost 111, 000 subscribers, which is paltry amount compared to the no.1 music site, Spotify, which has 25 million accounts with 6 million paid users.
