The sequel to the 2013 zombie apocalypse horror film, World War Z is officially in the works as World War Z 2 gets a new screenwriter.
According to the reports from the Variety, Oscar-nominated screenwriter/director Steven Knight is hired for the task in writing the plot of World War Z 2, while Spanish director Juan Antonio Bayona is set to direct the movie.
Steven Knight is known for his works such as the UK version of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, Dirty Pretty Things, Amazing Grace, Closed Circuit, Redemption and many more. His screenplays were also nominated for several awards including the Academy Award for Writing Original Screenplay and the BAFTA Award for Best Original Screenplay.
So far, Brad Pitt official returns to the sequel as both actor and producer of the movie. There are no plot details yet for World War Z 2 as well as a release date.
World War Z is zombie apocalypse movie based on the novel of the same name by Max Brooks. The story follows the exploits of a former United Nations Investigator Gerry Lane and his family as they try to survive the zombie infested world. The first movie is directed by Marc Foster, and produced by Brad Pitt's production company Plan B Entertainment.
