Ukrainian TV reporter Vitalii Sediuk was arrested for striking Brad Pitt at the "Maleficent" premiere and has been charged with 4 misdemeanors, Los Angeles City Attorney spokesman Rob Wilcox said on Friday, according to CNN.

Sediuk was charged with one count of battery, one count of assault and two violations of the Los Angeles municipal code, Wilcox stated.

Ukraine's Channel 1+1 told the news outlet on Thursday that it had fired Sediuk after he went under actress America Ferrera's dress at Cannes on May 17, according to NY Daily News.

"[Sediuk] no longer represents the interests of the company," a spokeswoman for 1+1 said in a statement obtained by the Hollywood Reporter.

The spokeswoman added, "The prank on the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival was Vitalii's personal initiative. The journalist did not report his plans to the channel's Editorial Office."

Before assaulting Brad Pitt at the "Maleficent" premiere, Seduik was reportedly slapped by Will Smith when the reporter tried to kiss the actor on the lips at the Moscow premiere for "Men in Black 3."

In February 2013, Sediuk was charged with trespassing after jumping onstage to crash Adele's acceptance speech at the Grammys.

Earlier this year, he was seen hugging Bradley Cooper's crotch on the red carpet of the Screen Actors Guild Awards. He did the same to Leonardo DiCaprio at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival a month later.

After the "Maleficent" premiere, Pitt has filed an emergency restraining order against the Ukrainian reporter.

Seduik's attorney Anthony Willoughby said that his client is "a real nice guy" and added, "I'm really shocked that he would be accused of hitting somebody."
