Apple Rumors 2014 WWDC say that Apple is hanging up banners of iOS8, iOSX at the Moscone, Conference Center in San Francisco - an early peak into what lies ahead on Monday, June 2 when the WWWDC is slated to begin.
The first day will comprise of a keynote from CEO Tim Cook. Although it will lack some of the color and charisma of the former CEO, late Steve Jobs, Cook has proven himself over the last year with the release of two very different iPhones - the iPhone 5s and the iPhone 5c, a novel product designed exclusively for a low-end market like China.
Another observation by analysts is that the iMac is shipping 3-5 days slower, and rumors abound that the price of the iMac will go down on a model introduced at the WWDC. It's certainly a possibility since Apple will want to clear as much inventory as possible before jumping on to new technologies.
AppleInsider also said that inventories of the iMac are dwindling at authorized dealers and some retailers are selling the iMacs in store at discounts:
"As we have seen with Apple may be clearing out inventory Amazon is completely sold out of the base-line 21.5-inch and 27-inch models, relying on third-party resellers who only have a handful of units left in stock. MacMall is also down to its last units on the 2.9-gigahertz 21.5-inch model, and the 3.4-gigahertz 27-inch model." AppleInsider
WWDC expectations outlined by Techradar includes these new products and services:
- iOS8 launch.
- Enhanced Siri, which is Apple's virtual assistant.
- Healthbook app with a fitness band; this is supposed to release with the iWatch, but analysts say that there might be a mention of the iWatch with a release later in conjunction with the iPhone 6
- Better mapping, which would be ideal if Google and Apple could collaborate.
- Superior ICloud Integration; leaving more room on the computing device.
- Third party Keyboard Enhancements; the iPhone keyboard is popular and an improvement would be even better.
- No Game Center; streamlining gaming.
- Touch ID payments; the touted fingerprint ID could enable paypal payments among others.
- iWatch Integration; this is something that is highly anticipated but an actual presentation of the iWatch is unlikely.
- The 'Smart Home System' would be the answer to the concept, 'The Internet of all things,' connecting just about everything in a home through an iPhone.
Analysts are betting Apple WWDC 2014 will see 'smart home systems unveiled. In the absence of the iWatch or an iPhone 6, the smart home phone system is likely to take center stage.
Apple's iWatch speculation on price, concepts, features and release dates has been ongoing for some time and is slated for release in September right along with the iPhone 6.
