After some major announcements were made in the recently concluded WWDC, Apple CEO Tim Cook said iOS 8 was a "giant release", offering "great user features and incredible developer features".

For users, the highlights of the release included a brand new piece of software called "HomeKit", which will allow people to control household objects and appliances - including lights and doors - directly from their smartphone.

It is safe to say that with these all new advancements and additions, iPhone 6 could really be a mile away from its predecessor.

Initially, reports said that the iPhone 6 will have a price increase due to a wider display. Good thing though, is that it will also have better specs and materials. Read on.

"Our checks indicate Apple has started negotiating with carriers on a $100 iPhone 6 price increase," saidJefferies analyst Peter Misek, according to Business Insider. "The initial response has been no, but there seems to be an admission that there is no other game-changing device this year."

Following the success of the Retina Display feature, Apple is determined to give its users a better viewing experience thus an iPhone with a bigger screen. Compared to its fiercest competitor, The 5.7-inch Galaxy Note 3 is another handset that costs $299 with contract, but the new 5.1-inchGalaxy S5 costs $199, the same as the current iPhone 5s. The iPhone 6 will be somewhere between its rival's screen size and will offer it in two varieties--4.7 inches and 5.5 inches-although sources say the latter may be delayed.

Despite the price increase, Apple offers more than a wider screen and better resolution as Tech experts says the specs of the New IPhone will sport a faster A8 chip, an enhanced 10-MP camera (perhaps with the ability to swap lenses) and an all-new Healthbook app that will help iPhone owners keep better tabs on their health and fitness.

Also, sources say the new casing will be lighter and slimmer unlike other so-called phablets. Asian suppliers are saying the device could be a mere 5.8mm thick, compared to 7.6mm for the iPhone 5s.
