"House of Cards" season 3 is right back on track as the production returns to Harford County in Maryland for the casting. Meanwhile, head writer Beau Willimon doesn't believe that Frank Underwood's life isn't just about his obsession with power.

In a report by Baltimore Sun, Kimberly Skyrme Casting is holding an open casting call on Saturday, June 7 at Bel Air from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for "House of Cards" season 3. The audition is open to all union and non-union extras who are all required to show up in their "best Washington, D.C. political look."

Union extras, however, will have a separate line while bit actors who already submitted their resume are no longer required to attend the open casting, the publication added.

Among the characters that the casting agent is looking for are: a male or female NSA director, a "blue-collar" type male detective between 35-48 years old, and a male military colonel between 50-60 years old. It's not clear if the detective will look into Frank Underwood's role in the deaths of Peter Russo (Corey Stoll) Zoe Barnes (Kate Mara).

The production is also looking for an ER doctor, a male and female reporter, photographer, male and female senator.

In another "House of Cards" season 3 news, production might start as early as next month between June 12 to July 15, 2014, WTOP 103.5 Radio revealed, based on the open casting announcement by Kimberly Skyrme.

Meanwhile, "House of Cards" season 3 writer Beau Willimon was asked by a fan with the handle Katerina during the official Q&A with the writers and cast of the show: "is it possible for Frank Underwood to fall in love with something other than just power??

To which he replied: "I think he's very much in love with Claire," referring to Frank Underwood's (Kevin Spacey) wife played by Robin Wright.
