The sequel 2012 dark fantasy movie, Snow White and the Huntsman 2 is in the works.
Screenrant reports that Snow White and the Huntsman 2 is set to be released in cinemas on 2016 due lack of real progress on the production schedule. Deadline reported that a shortlist of potential directors who will helm the sequel have revealed.
The list include "The Walking Dead " creator Frank Darabont, "Warrior" director Gavin O'Connor, "Mama" director Andres Muschietti.
Director Rupert Sanders helmed the first film, which grossed close to $400 million worldwide, a result that almost guarantees a second installment even if the first cost $170 million or more.
Meanwhile, "Thor" star Chris Hemsworth is hinted to return to the movie.
Cinema Blend reports that Hemsworth is contractually obligated to return to sequel, and they are exercising his opinion within the next couple of months upon completion of Avengers: Age of Ultron. Hemsworth's co-star Kristin Stewart will also return to reprise her role as Snow White in the sequel.
Snow With and the Huntsman 2 will likely take place after the events of the first film. So far no further plot developments and additional cast members have been hinted to join the sequel and shooting schedules will likely start next year.
