A year after Paris Jackson suicide attempt, the 16-year-old daughter of the late Michael Jackson seems to be doing great! Paris attempted suicide one year ago today.

A source tells E! that the young, blue-eyed beauty is currently still attending boarding school in Utah, and adds, "She is doing a lot better. She is getting back to normal. I think she has made quite a bit of progress over the past year."

The insider shares that Paris has made new friends and still stays in touch with her old friends from out of state. "Utah has been exactly what she needed to get better," the source says. "She is in a much better place than a year ago. It's just a matter of time before she comes home"

Speaking of Paris returning home, source explained, "There have been recent discussions on when she could come back and some talk as early as this summer or later this year, but everyone wants to make sure she is ready and that can be an evolving situation."

On June 5, 2013, a Jackson family source said that Paris "attempted suicide this morning. She's been dealing with depression."

After leaving treatment in L.A. late last year, Paris has been living in Utah at a private boarding school, but was able to go home for the holidays. She was released for her school's Christmas break to join her family-including brother Prince, who was seen splashing around in the pool at a resort-on vacation in Hawaii, and spent time at her grandma Katherine Jackson's house before heading back to Utah.

Paris Jackson has been pretty active on her Instagram in recent weeks, and she shared a very special pic days ago where she looks the happiest we've seen her in ages!

In the image, Paris is seen cheesing with her brother Prince and their other smiley Jackson family members.

Paris was totally open to the idea of living with her mother Debbie Rowe this summer, though she'll be in summer school for part of the time.
