Gamers are just hours away from E3 when a leak video trailer for the upcoming Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain, found its way to YouTube. The short teaser, which was meant to be unveiled on the gaming event, came with one message. It is violence.
It totally delivered everything that Kojima has promised. The game developer once revealed that The Phantom Pain will be showing a man descending into madness. The storyline will definitely be darker than ever.
The short footage has so much sorrow to it that it can get depressing, yet exciting for players who can't wait for The Phantom Pain. At one part, the trailer shows the Big Boss, rubbing the ashes of his followers against his face as he yells in pain. While being all melodramatic, the Big Boss' horns grew bigger and bigger. However, the video was immediately taken down.
Other reveals from the trailer includes Huey getting tortured, Quiet in short action, Ocelot training some soldiers and Eli trying to destroy the Big Boss. Of course, Eli is the much younger Liquid Snake.
All in all, these are some big and interesting things to come in MGS5 The Phantom Pain. Once the trailer takes centre stage on E3, Kojima will certainly explain more about it.
In other news, creator Hideo Kojima unveiled the map for this game.
Hideo Kojima personally revealed this map on a livestream of Kojima Show dedicated to The Phantom Pain. The game was already confirmed to have a huge map, and this image definitely proves it. You can also see how it compares to the other Metal Gear Solid maps in the series.
Kojima further elaborated the difference to the smaller Ground Zeroes MGS title, referring to The Phantom Pain as being "more than 200x bigger," which explains the longer game development period.
"The Phantom Pain has enormous volume, so it will require much more time. So, together with the marketing staff, we consulted 'what ifs' and such, and came to the decision of allowing fans to at least play the prologue ahead of time."
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain will be the epilogue to Ground Zeroes. It is an open world Metal Gear Solid game for the first time in the series. This new entry in the series will mark the return of Big Boss and also feature the voice of Kiefer Sutherland as Big Boss.
